Never mind Robitussin because we have Cherry Bounce!

"She leaned over to check, but Germain was peacefully asleep, also smiling. “That Cherry Bounce must be good stuff.” Roger laughed. “It’s terrible. Like industrial-strength cough syrup. I will say it makes ye very cheerful, though.” “Have you been drinking it?” She eyed him narrowly, but his lips appeared to be their usual color. “Of course not.” He leaned over and kissed her, to prove it. “Surely ye dinna think a Scotsman like Ronnie would deal wi’ disappointment by drinking Cherry Bounce? When there’s decent whisky to hand?”"

We made the Cherry Bounce and yes, Roger was absolutely correct.  Industrial-strength cough syrup is on target for a description.  The book said to use blended whisky, so I trundled off to the liquor store first - apparently, we're a single-malt household.  One bottle of Cutty Sark, just shy of two pounds of half-frozen sweet cherries we had left over from making sangria into that Mason jar, added a little sugar and put it in the basement to age for a few weeks.  Directions say to taste after 6-8 weeks, then add more sugar if needed. It's needed. Trust me.

A poster on FB told me she aged hers for a year and it was better. Next time that'll be the plan. We're currently cutting this with Sprite and Hubster is using the cherries for his Manhatten's.

In school news, I'm learning to be more creative. My two classes this semester are Cognitive Theory and Creativity & Aging. Both are very interesting, both are accelerated and both will drive me to drink. One of the problems I have is these damn discussion groups. First post for Cognitive Theory class has to be posted by Wednesday AFTER we read all the material for the week's learning. We pose two questions for the group to answer and we have to respond to four other posts in the next four days. I read the material and I cannot think of questions to ask. I also have to come up with a term paper project. Some sort of program to help others. My mind is completely blank.

Fabulous.
